About NoiseCurb
NoiseCurb is an independent library on home noise. It exists for one reason: most people with a noise problem spend money on the wrong fix, because nobody tells them which of three very different problems they have.
What we do differently
- We diagnose first. Echo inside your room, sound through a wall, and vibration through the structure need completely different fixes. Every guide starts by helping you work out which one you have.
- We trace every number. Figures link to the standard, code, study or official body they come from. If we cannot trace a claim, we leave it out.
- We say when something will not work. Some noise problems cannot be solved with a product. When that is the honest answer, you will read it near the top, not buried at the end.
- We connect the whole picture. A noisy neighbor is a physics question, a rights question, a sleep question and sometimes a hearing question. Our guides link those together so you can follow your situation from start to finish.
Who is behind it
NoiseCurb was founded by Pradip Tambe, Founder & Editor. Health and legal guides are checked against official sources such as NIDCD, CDC and NIOSH, the WHO and published building codes and statutes. When a qualified professional reviews a guide, their name and credentials are shown on that page.
Read our editorial policy and how we test to see exactly how guides are made.
How the site is funded
NoiseCurb is free to read. It is supported by display advertising and, on some product guides, affiliate links. Advertisers never see or influence a guide before it is published. See our affiliate disclosure.
